I always knew I wanted a moody dining room. And I love mixing modern pieces with antique accents. So when designing our dining room, I wanted to combine modern, classic styles with my collected antique finds and vintage inspired decor.
I choose Iron Ore by Sherwin Williams as our main wall color. Our dining room is a bit open concept, so although we don’t have four walls enveloping the room, I wanted to create depth and add character through adding DIY wall moulding.
I love the profile of our 108′ dining table, and paired it with this popular vintage inspired 9′ x 12′ rug that anchored the room. Recently I decided to remove the antique end chairs and instead place them in corner of the room for added seating, and I love the open and welcoming feel it created.
I often use juxtaposition in design, and this modern fluted sideboard paired with the vintage inspired wall mirror was such an interesting combination to me and I love it! I wanted to create a feeling of lived in elegance, using everything from antique treasures to Amazon finds. I love discovering unique decor, wherever it’s from!
Our dining chairs might be one of my most popular and asked things in my home. These are impeccable quality and very comfortable! Pairing high and low pieces in design helps save on budget yet still give a refined look, and this affordable rug is one my best sellers for a reason. The colors are gorgeous and it’s perfect for a dining room! Lays flats and cleans easily!
