When I started thinking about my work space in the new house, I had a vision of a vintage floral office design. A little moody, with lots of feminine touches and a nod to antique style. I wanted to give the feel of something that had been there forever, but still felt new and fresh. Sometimes one piece can be the inspiration for the whole design, and that was the case with this vintage floral wallpaper. I’ve painted the walls a gorgeous shade of mauve-y pink (Sulking Room Pink by Farrow & Ball), with a couple of focal walls so that the wallpaper really pops.
I’d call this style fairly eclectic yet sophisticated. I love how the sofa feels overall clean and modern, yet also a bit stylized with the sloped arms. And the coffee table has a contemporary shape, with mid-century modern cane detailing. If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you’ll recognize that this sofa from Poly & Bark is actually my second attempt at finding the right piece. I have a feeling that based off my first sofa, this one is going to be a LOT better. And I love a statement piece like this in a space like an office or den!
