Some fun, modern outdoor patio furniture inspiration as we welcome in the outdoor living and entertaining season! Outdoor patios are really an extension of our living space. For those of us lucky enough to have some outdoor space to decorate, picking out furniture and decor can be a difficult task. First of all – it’s pricey! I’ve always wanted to know why outdoor patio furniture is so expensive, and I’ve made it my mission throughout the years to source out affordable options that retain both quality and aesthetic for a variety of spaces.
No matter what it’s size, you’ll first want to define the function of your space. Will it be for enjoying a cup of morning coffee? Or for entertaining guests? Or maybe another area to sit and have dinner? Even a small patio will likely allow for a pair of chairs and small side table, or perhaps just one fun hanging egg chair. Bistro chairs and tables are typically sold in sets, but I always opt to look for things a la carte. You’ll have more options for a more modern design. The same goes for outdoor dining! I suggest sourcing your table, chairs, or benches separately to give you some flexibility in design – and price!
I walked into CB2 the other day and saw those gorgeous ivory and black iron lounge chairs, and thought… these have got to be $1,000 each. But low and behold, these are in the $500 range! Which sound ridiculous when you say it out loud, however when it comes to outdoor furniture, everything is pretty expensive. So if you’re only going with a set of lounge chairs and small side table, I’m actually really loving these for the cost! How cute is that hanging egg chair? Perfect for even the smallest patio to curl up and read a book. Target always has fantastic, more affordable patio options and that ivory loveseat is such a modern classic design. I love it paired with the wired coffee table! And when it comes to outdoor dining, I would love to one day have space enough to do a full length table – and this one is such a beautiful color and great price for what you get! I love an excuse to interject some color into my otherwise neutral indoor palette, and this geometric rug with pops of purples is perfect!
